Injury Update: Patriots WR Danny Amendola to Have MRI on Knee

The Patriots are dangerously thin at wide receiver.

The New England Patriots can't catch a break. Wide receiver Danny Amendola is expected to have an MRI on his knee to "assess the knee injury" that occurred on Monday Night Football, according to the NFL Network's Albert Breer.

Fox Sports Mike Garafolo says that the expectation is for the injury nothing to be major, but any time a player with the injury history of Danny Amendola has his health called into question is a moment for some concern. The Patriots can't afford for Amendola to miss any time.

The Patriots are wildly thin on offense as Julian Edelman is out with a foot injury and Keshawn Martin is battling a hamstring issue. Add in the injury to Dion Lewis and the Patriots quick passing attack is in serious jeopardy if Amendola misses any time.

Wide receiver Aaron Dobson was also carted off the field on Monday with an ankle injury, leaving the Patriots with just Brandon LaFell and undrafted rookie Chris Harper on the receiver depth chart.
