Report: The Patriots Not Expected to Trade for Titans CB Jason McCourty

While the idea is grand, it's not going to happen.

While it would have been nice to pair up Titans cornerback Jason McCourty with his identical twin brother free safety Devin McCourty, the move isn't expected to happen.

Some false reports surfaced about Jason coming to the Patriots in exchange for a couple mid round picks, but the original reports were false. Sources close to the situation say that nothing is happening at this point.

McCourty drew interest from the Patriots as New England worked the phone lines to try and improve their situation at cornerback. Unfortunately the final price couldn't be agreed upon. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the Titans eventually determined that Jason McCourty was no longer available for trade.

There is roughly a half hour left before the trade deadline and it's still possible for the Patriots to make a last minute move to improve some aspect of the roster. Just don't expect it to be a big name in the headline.
