After playing on Thursday night last week, the New England Patriots head into their week 9 matchup with the visiting Washington Redskins coming off a mini-bye. With the additional rest, the team should have gotten healthier but looking at today's injury report that hasn't exactly been the case.
Per patriots.com, here is today's report:
OT Marcus Cannon (Toe): DNP
OG Tre' Jackson (Knee): DNP
DE Jabaal Sheard (Ankle): DNP
WR Julian Edelman (Knee): LP
RB Dion Lewis (Abdomen): LP
WR Keshawn Martin (Hamstring): LP
OG Shaq Mason (Knee): LP
OG Ryan Wendell (Knee): LP
Cannon and Sheard are on their way to miss yet another game, even though their respective injuries were originally considered to be of the minor sort. Cannon's injury status in particular needs to be watched closely as New England is thin on the offensive line – especially considering that Tre' Jackson also missed today's practice and that Shaq Mason and Ryan Wendell were limited.
Wendell, by the way, is a new addition to the report, just like wide receiver Julian Edelman. It remains to be seen if the two players will be good to go on Sunday.
