Patriots Injury Update: Dion Lewis, Sebastian Vollmer OUT against Washington

David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

The Patriots have suffered from multiple serious injuries against Washington.

Left tackle Sebastian Vollmer was ruled OUT after suffering a head injury. Vollmer is the Patriots third tackle on the year to go down, after Nate Solder and Marcus Cannon. With all three players out, the Patriots placed Cameron Fleming at left tackle (he played right tackle in college) and placed Bryan Stork at right tackle.

It's that dire.

Patriots have also placed running back Dion Lewis OUT with a knee injury. Lewis went down with pretty much no contact and it looked pretty serious. Initial reports are saying ACL, but we will wait to see an official declaration. With Lewis out, the Patriots have opted to run LeGarrette Blount instead of utilizing Lewis' actual back-up in Brandon Bolden. James White is inactive on the day.

Hopefully both players regain their health as these injuries have serious impacts on the Patriots long term success this season.
