The New England Patriots have been plagued by injuries all year long. True to form, four players left Sunday's game against the Houston Texans. One of the four, defensive tackle Dominique Easley, has been placed on injured reserve yesterday. The other three were the only players not to practice today.
Via patriots.com, here is New England's first injury report of the week:
RB LeGarrette Blount (Hip): DNP
LB Jonathan Freeny (Hand): DNP
FS Devin McCourty (Ankle): DNP
WR Danny Amendola (Knee): LP
TE Scott Chandler (Knee): LP
SS Patrick Chung (Foot): LP
CB Justin Coleman (Hand): LP
WR Julian Edelman (Foot): LP
LB Dont'a Hightower (Knee): LP
OG Josh Kline (Shoulder): LP
WR Matthew Slater (Stinger): LP
TE Rob Gronkowski (Knee): FP
DE Chandler Jones (Abdomen): FP
LeGarrette Blount, Jonathan Freeny and Devin McCourty all left last Sunday's win in Houston. The injuries to Freeny and McCourty are not considered overly serious but probably will still force them to miss some time. Blount, on the other hand, is reportedly a candidate to be placed on season-ending injured reserve. Such a move, however, has not officially happened yet.
Compared to last week's final injury report, the status of Rob Gronkowski has changed from limited to full participation, while two players – offensive tackle Marcus Cannon (toe) and tight end Michael Williams (knee) – have been removed from the list.
Recently signed defensive tackle Ishmaa'ily Kitchen practiced with the team today.
