The New England Patriots have made a flurry of moves to flush out their roster during week 15.
Running back LeGarrette Blount has officially been placed on the injured reserve, ending his season. The Patriots have also released wide receiver Damaris Johnson, who was a healthy scratch last week.
New England claimed two players on waivers to fill out the open roster spots.
The Patriots have added wide receiver Leonard Hankerson, formerly of Washington and Atlanta. Hankerson played eight games for the Falcons this season, collected 26 receptions for 327 yards and three touchdowns. The 6'2, 210 lbs receiver picked up 15 receptions, 225 yards, and two touchdowns over a three week span at the start of the season before a hamstring injury derailed his year. The Falcons placed him on the injured reserve on December 4th, but subsequently released him on December 15th, allowing him to join the Patriots.
New England also added offensive tackle LaAdrian Waddle, formerly of the Detroit Lions. Waddle started 24 games over the past three seasons, but spent the offseason recovering from a torn ACL. The Patriots have space to store Waddle for the future and the team believes that a three year starter is valuable depth to have moving forward.
