When it rains in Boston, it's going to start pouring.
Per Jim McBride of the Boston Globe, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady missed Friday practice "because he was sick." Tight end Rob Gronkowski was also not at practice on a drizzly morning, for a non-injury related reason, per CSN's Tom Curran. We will provide the full injury report later today.
Hopefully Tom isn't suffering from anything that some chicken soup and a warm blanket can't take care of, and it's likely that he's staying away from the facilities to make sure that no one else gets sick. Brady practiced earlier this week, so he's not in any real jeopardy of missing Sunday's game against the Titans. He'll do everything to help the team and to keep his consecutive start streak intact.
The illness is worth noting because it could affect the game plan depending on the severity, and it could lead to an early hook in favor of back-up Jimmy Garoppolo, should the Patriots build an early lead.
On a positive note, safety Devin McCourty returned to practice, but is unlikely to play on Sunday.
