Very few members of the New England Patriots are unavailable to practice, but it seems like half of the roster is limited. Tight end Rob Gronkowski was not at practice because he was attending the funeral of his friend. Linebacker Jonathan Freeny was the only player absent due to injury (hand), although practice squad safety Brock Vereen was also not spotted.
Here is the full report:
Did Not Practice: LB Jonathan Freeny (hand), TE Rob Gronkowski (non-Injury)
Limited Practice: WR Danny Amendola (knee), TE Scott Chandler (knee), SS Patrick Chung (foot), SS Nate Ebner (ankle), WR Julian Edelman (foot), LB Dont'a Hightower (knee), OG Josh Kline (shoulder), WR Brandon LaFell (foot), FS Devin McCourty (ankle)
Full Practice: CB Justin Coleman (hand), DE Chandler Jones (abdomen)
Of the limited players, Amendola, Chung, Edelman, Hightower, and McCourty could and should join Freeny as scratches against the Jets, along with the newly signed OT LaAdrian Waddle. There's no need to risk the health of players not yet at 100% before the playoffs.
The Jets are dealing with some minor injuries on their end, as linebackers David Harris (back) and Calvin Pace (abdomen) were limited in practice, and tight end Kellen Davis (back) and wide receiver Quincy Enunwa (neck) were also limited. New York is as close to full strength as any team can reasonably expect at this point in the season.
