Week 16 Patriots vs Jets: Friday Injury Report – Freeny Out, Edelman Doubtful; Amendola & Hightower Among Eight Questionable

Happy Holidays, everyone! Since Christmas is the time to spend with family and loved ones, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has decided to cancel today's practice session. While the players had a day off, the team still has to release its league-mandated injury report.

As of today, the team has ruled only one player out to participate in Sunday's game against the New York Jets: linebacker Jonathan Freeny, who broke a bone in his hand two weeks ago and was not seen on the field since. Because fellow linebacker Dont'a Hightower is listed as questionable, expect Jerod Mayo to once again play a considerable number of snaps.

While wide receiver Julian Edelman has not yet been officially ruled out, he seems like a safe bet to join Freeny on the sidelines on Sunday. After all, he is too valuable of a player to risk anything. The same could also probably be said about Danny Amendola, Dont'a Hightower and Devin McCourty.

Still, the players listed as questionable will be game-time decisions – the Patriots need to declare six more players inactive – while those listed as probable should be good to go.
