The Patriots are making a flurry of roster moves in preparation against the New York Jets with the release of TE Asante Cleveland and signing of CB Troy Hill. This doesn't affect the makeup of the roster much since Cleveland is really just an extra body in case the Patriots lose Scott Chandler or Michael Williams at TE. I would expect to see Cleveland added to the practice squad this week after he clears waivers. The promotion of Chris Harper allows leaves an open spot next week unless Harper gets released.
Troy Hill is a rookie from the University of Oregon, one of the top programs in college football. Hill had a more impressive 2014 season than the more noticeable Ifo Ekpre-Olumu. For those wondering, Hill clocked in a 6.82 3-Cone. I'm not sure if he's around for 1 game for if the Patriots actually think of him as a contributor in the immediate and long term future. The Patriots are deep at the CB position now and even more crowded in 2016.
