Two days ago, the New England Patriots have created an open spot on their 53-man roster by releasing fullback Joey Iosefa. The rookie has since been re-signed to the Patriots' practice squad - and his former roster spot has also been filled.
According to multiple media reports, New England has signed linebacker Dekoda Watson to its active roster.
The 27-year old Watson was originally drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the seventh round of the 2010 NFL Draft out of Florida State. After stints with the Buccaneers, Jacksonville Jaguars and Dallas Cowboys, Watson joined the Patriots in May 2015.
He has been on and off the team since and overall has played two games this season for the Patriots. Now, Watson has returned to give New England more depth at the linebacker position. On Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, the Patriots' starters - Dont'a Hightower and Jamie Collins - will probably not play every snap and therefore the team needs depth options.
