There's no way to explain. The Patriots coaching staff made a terrible, awful, no good, very bad decision that led to the Eagles waltzing right back into a contest that should have been over early in the second quarter.
The Patriots had defensive back Nate Ebner run a drop kick for some reason.

This made zero sense. The Eagles recovered the kick on the 40 yard line, effectively getting 20 free yards for no reason, and promptly scored on the ensuing drive.
Then the Patriots got the ball back and had their punt blocked and returned for a touchdown.
I'm not saying it's entirely the fault of special teams, but ouch, yeah, the Patriots would have buried the Eagles by now if it weren't for the questionable play calling and performance of the New England special teams.
