This is normally the kind of thing we would post later on in the week as we enjoy the Victoryest of all Victory Mondays, but given the news and the player impact, it only adds to the narrative.
According to Ian Rappaport, Dont'a Hightower will be undergoing labrum surgery this offseason:
With the Super Bowl over, the plan is for Patriots?src=hash">#Patriots LB Dont'a Hightower to have labrum surgery, I’m told. Played mostly with one arm.

When exactly Hightower sustained the injury is unclear, although it was probably far earlier in the season than any of us would like to think about. That Hightower played through the injury, played well, and made what turned out to be the season saving tackle on one arm speaks to just how fierce a competitor he is. He had his best season as a pro, and he did it at less than 100%. This linebacking corps is going to be fierce.
And what a testament to The Patriot Way. Sucking it up, playing through the pain, doing your job, being there for your teammates, and not once complaining or making excuses. Already high pride level skyrocketing.
I just hope Hightower has the good sense to raise that Lombardi with his good arm at the parade tomorrow.
