One day after signing wide receiver Brandon Gibson, the New England Patriots have made another move to bolster their receiving core. According to Aaron Wilson, the team has signed wideout Kevin Dorsey:

Dorsey was originally drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft (pick 224). The Maryland product was not invited to the Scouting Combine after finishing his four year college career with 81 receptions for 1088 yards and nine touchdowns. In Green Bay, Dorsey, who spent his entire rookie campaign on injured reserve, appeared in only three games, catching one pass for four yards. In November 2014, he was again placed on injured reserve.
The 25-year old was released by the Packers in February this year and subsequently had a workout with the Patriots. He projects as not much more than depth option at wide receiver and thus has to work his way onto the roster via special teams, just like he did in Green Bay.
