In an ideal world, the New England Patriots would find a way to strike new deals with both cornerback Darrelle Revis and safety Devin McCourty. Unfortunately, in the NFL, rarely does a team dwell in such an ideal place.

In wake of yesterday’s news that Stephen Gostkowski, and not Devin McCourty, had received the franchise tag, the return of #32 had been put in doubt. I posed the following question on Twitter:

"Overpay" might have been putting it too blunt. What I meant was – who would you rather see the Patriots go all-out to sign in a free agent bidding war? Responses were varied:

I pose the question to you – If you were the general manager of the Patriots, how far would you go to sign Revis or McCourty? If you had to pick between the two, who would you overspend on to keep?
