2015 NFL Draft: Nick Caserio, Bill Belichick at Auburn Pro Day

Auburn held their Pro Day yesterday, and the Patriots had both Bill Belichick and Nick Caserio attend.

All 32 NFL teams were in attendance at Auburn’s Pro Day on Tuesday. For the New England Patriots, their presence was notable, as both Bill Belichick and Nick Caserio were spotted at the event.

The Tigers had an up and down 2014 season, with eight wins and five losses. Nonetheless, they have their fair share of high-profile draft prospects as well. Here are three to look at:

Corey Grant, RB: Grant was not invited to the combine, but was on fire at the Auburn pro day. 40 times of 4.25 and 4.27, a 10-foot-7 broad jump, 22 reps on the bench… the undersized, part time running back could be worth a late-round flier.

Sammie Coates, WR: Belichick worked with Coates intensively. He’s a big, athletic receiver with loads of upside with some issues dropping passes. He didn’t run a particularly advanced route tree at Auburn, but would be an immediate deep threat and could be a round one target for the Patriots.

Nick Marshall, CB/QB: An undersized, but prolific college quarterback, Marshall could be making the transition to defensive back in the pros (played corner at Georgia in 2011). He did drills with defensive backs yesterday, which is something he did not do at the combine (did drills with quarterbacks). Insert witty Julian Edelman reference here.

What are your thoughts on the prospects from Auburn? Would you like to see the Patriots target Coates in round one?
