Per the Miami Herald's Armando Salguero, the New England Patriots have shown interest in former Dolphins wide receiver Brian Hartline.
The 6'2, 200 lbs Hartline spent the past six seasons in Miami and signed a large contract worth over $6 million per season prior to 2013. Hartline posted two straight 1,000 yard seasons in 2012 and 2013, but disappeared at times last season. He has a surprisingly low 12 career touchdown receptions.
Hartline offers 4.49 speed and an extremely quick 6.65 three cone (for comparison, Julian Edelman's 3 cone was 6.62). He's an outside presence and would be a high quality WR3 in an offense. From a yardage standpoint, he's the most consistent wide receiver in the entire league at putting up a yeoman's 50 yards per game, with the least variability.
The Dolphins released Hartline due to poor production this past season and because they had too much capital tied up in their receivers. The Texans, Browns, and Bears have all shown interest in the receiver.
