DeflateGate: NFLPA Files Appeal for Tom Brady

Tom Brady and the Players Association are fighting against the quarterback's suspension.

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Today's extremely active on the DeflateGate front, with the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) announcing their support and filing an appeal of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady's suspension.

The NFLPA has filed an appeal of the four-game suspension of Tom Brady handed down by Troy Vincent.

Given the NFL’s history of inconsistency and arbitrary decisions in disciplinary matters, it is only fair that a neutral arbitrator hear this appeal.

If Ted Wells and the NFL believe, as their public comments stated, that the evidence in their report is "direct" and "inculpatory," then they should be confident enough to present their case before someone who is truly independent.

The NFLPA points out that the NFL's track record in recent arbitration hearings has been terrible, and to save time they want to skip that waste of a step and go directly to a neutral party. Brady, the Patriots, and the NFLPA aren't holding back any punches.
