The New England Patriots wasted no time filling the roster hole left by newly cut Brandon Spikes, as they signed veteran corner Derek Cox this afternoon:
#patriots announce they signed DB Derek Cox...has played with Jaguars and Chargers but didn't play in '14 after released by BAL out of camp

The five-year veteran spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars and San Diego Chargers, as well as brief stints with the Vikings and Ravens during the 2014 preseason before being cut before the season actually started.
Cox, 6'1", 195 pounds, spent the entirety of 2014 away from football, as he went unsigned after his release from Baltimore. One could make the case that he's nothing more than a camp body, but given New England's current defensive back situation, literally anything is possible at this point.
