Important 2015 Offseason Dates: Roster Cuts, League Meetings, NFL Draft

The NFL has released their schedule for the upcoming season.

The NFL has released their important dates for the upcoming season. I have divided them up into relevant groupings.

Roster Cuts

September 1st: By 4PM EST, teams have to reduce their roster to a maximum of 75 players. This is after three preseason games have been played.

September 3rd: Final preseason games.

September 5th: By 4PM EST, teams have to reduce their roster to a maximum of 53 players, including Physically Unable to Perform and Non-Football Injury distinctions.

September 6th: Waivers period for players from final cuts have to be placed by 12PM EST. Practice squads can be set starting at 1PM EST. After 4PM EST, teams are able to "Designate for Return" a player on the Injured Reserve.

Trading Deadline

November 3rd: At 4PM EST, the league's trading period will end.

Contracts and Free Agency

January 4th: Teams will be allowed to negotiate new contracts with players drafted in the 2013 draft (eg: Jamie Collins).

NFL PLAYOFFS: Coaches on teams that have been eliminated from the postseason will be eligible to negotiate with other franchises.

March 7th: By 4PM EST, teams have to designate their Franchise or Transition Players.

March 12th-15th: The legal tampering period, whatever that means.

March 15th: The 2016 League Year and Free Agency period starts at 4PM EST.

League Meetings

March 20th-23rd: Annual League Meeting in Boca Raton, Florida.

NFL Draft

April 28th-30th: Christmas NFL Draft!
