Patriots sign veteran CB Tarell Brown

The New England Patriots have added more veteran depth to their cornerback corps after adding veteran Tarell Brown.

The New England Patriots have added more veteran depth to their cornerback corps, reportedly agreeing to terms with veteran free agent Tarell Brown.

Brown, 30, had visited the Patriots earlier in the offseason after finishing the 2014 regular season on injured reserve with the Oakland Raiders. The diagnosis for Brown was a foot injury. Presumably, he has now cleared a physical, and he lands on the Patriots roster in time for training camp to compete for both a roster spot and potentially a sizeable role.

Brown had signed with the Raiders prior to the 2014 season after spending the first seven years of his career with the 49ers. At 5'11" and 190 lbs, Brown has enough length to compete on the outside, having played primarily on the right side with both the 49ers and the Raiders.

The addition of Brown brings the Patriots to 89 total players on the roster. They will likely add another veteran before the official start of training camp to bring their total to 90.
