The New England Patriots start their training camp this week and are already preparing for it. Per the NFL's transaction wire (and via Miguel of patscap.com), the team has made the following moves today:

We do not yet know the reason why Matt Flynn, the Patriots' current number three behind fellow quarterbacks Tom Brady and Jimmy Garoppolo, was placed on the Non-Football Injury List. Given the Patriots' history of publicly discussing injuries, we probably never will find out.
The eight players placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list, on the other hand, come as no real surprise as it seems they are not yet ready to fully participate in practice sessions. LaFell, who was seen in a walking boot earlier in the offseason, and Wendell, for instance, did not participate in June's organized team activities and minicamp and were expected to start training camp on the reserve list. The same goes for Easley, who is still recovering from an ACL tear he suffered while still in college.
Players can be activated off the NFI/PUP lists anytime they are ready to partake in practice sessions. However, once off the lists, they cannot re-enter them when roster cuts arrive.
Notable names not on the lists include linebackers Dont'a Hightower and Jerod Mayo, which might be a sign that both are ready to go for training camp.
