Honorable Mention: Running back Dion Lewis would have made the cut with his 120 yards from scrimmage, but that fumble in the red zone drops him from contention.
Third Star: Wide receiver Julian Edelman collected a team leading 11 receptions for a team leading 97 yards. He moved the chains on a consistent basis and he took a few hits. He's playing like he's on a mission and he's ready for the best season of his career.
Second Star: Tight end Rob Gronkowski scored three touchdowns on five receptions for 94 yards. The Steelers thought they were going to control Gronkowski early, but they somehow forgot that Gronk should be quadruple covered in the red zone and Gronk won his one-on-one match-ups every time. Gronk is healthy in week 1 and he's going to post MONSTER numbers this year.
First Star: Quarterback Tom Brady was 25/32 for 288 yards and 4 touchdown passes. His passer rating was 143.8. Is there any doubt that Brady is fired up after this offseason? He was an assassin out there, behind a young, rotating offensive line, picking his targets and hitting their hands almost every time. After an early overthrow of Danny Amendola, Brady ripped off 19 straight completions. He's set for an amazing season.
