The New England Patriots have gotten off to a fast start in week three, and lead the Jacksonville Jaguars 20-3 at halftime.
After the defense forced a three and out on the opening drive, the Patriots would strike quick on a shifty Dion Lewis eight yard touchdown run. The big play on the drive was a Tom Brady to Rob Gronkowski 43 yard catch and run.
The Jaguars would fight back, notching a field goal and converting a few third and long plays and holding the Patriots to three points on a goal to go in the early second quarter. However, Blake Bortles had a terrible overthrow on a pass intended to Mercedes Lewis in the final minutes of the first half that was intercepted by Devin McCourty. After a few short completions and another laser throw down the seam from Brady to Gronkowski, Brady connected with Danny Amendola to extend the Patriots lead to 20-3.
Brady's touchdown to Amendola was a big milestone for Brady - touchdown pass number 400. He joins the ranks of Peyton Manning, Dan Marino, and Brett Favre as the only quarterbacks to throw that many. He's having another surgical afternoon, going 17-23 thus far.
The Patriots will get the ball to begin the second half.
