2015 New England Patriots Begin Their 53-Man Roster Cuts: Live Update Tracker

Patriots must cut the roster from 75 to 53 by tomorrow at 4pm

Stew Milne-USA TODAY Sports

This article will be updated with who gets cut over the next two days. Please stay tuned as the news of the roster cuts keeps coming along. This article will get updated with each roster cut and their respective tweet.

EDIT: Today's transactions have officially been announced by the Patriots. The team signed cornerback Justin Coleman and released the following players to bring the roster to 66:

DE Jake Bequette (from injured reserve)

RB Tony Creecy

WR Zach D'Orazio

WR DaVaris Daniels

OG Ryan Groy (injury designation)

OT Caylin Hauptmann

QB Ryan Lindley

OT Chris Martin

LB James Morris

DT A.J. Pataiali'i

DT Casey Walker

The Patriots need to make 13 more transactions to get to the offseason limit of 53. One will be placing running back LeGarrette Blount on the suspension list.

On Saturday, the Patriots released these players

CB Robert McClain

RB Jonas Gray

WR Reggie Wayne

LB Darius Fleming

CB Justin Coleman

TE Asante Cleveland

---

OL Chris Martin is the first one cut. He played the entire game at LT against the Giants and struggled, giving up 3 sacks and getting very little push in the run game.

NT Casey Walker has been released as well. He is a practice squad candidate for the Patriots that could be called up to the active roster in case of injuries to Siliga, Branch, or Brown.

RB Tony Creecy released, Patriots signed him to be a camp body when it seemed that all the RBs other than Jonas Gray and James White were injured.

The New England Patriots have also signed a new cornerback.

The Patriots have trimmed down on their wide receivers, although Daniels wasn't expected to make the roster.

The Patriots have cut another defensive tackle, further locking in Alan Branch on the roster.

The Patriots provide the first surprise cut of the preseason with defensive snap leader James Morris receiving the ax, along with a few other expected players.

The Patriots open up the final cut down day by releasing Robert McClain, who fell fast this preseason after many hoped he'd win the slot CB job.

The Patriots have released RB Jonas Gray, which tells me that the Patriots will either go pass heavy vs. Pittsburgh, preparing to bring Gray back, or they're looking elsewhere for a #2 power back which is the easiest position to learn in this offense. Gray hasn't been officially released, but the team is moving on from him according to Field Yates.

Reggie Wayne may be another cut, just so the team can non-guarantee his base salary. He'll be back after Week 1 if he is cut. Here's the latest news on Wayne.

Darius Fleming was another player I expected to not make the 53 man roster. It should be interesting if the team picks up a linebacker during roster cuts.

Here's a bit of an explanation for why the Patriots signed and cut Justin Coleman within 24 hours.

Roster longshot Asante Cleveland has also been released, but could be a possible practice squad candidate this year.

The Patriots have cut former 6th round pick Zach Moore, who is now a practice squad candidate.

Wide receiver Brandon LaFell has been placed on the PUP list and will return in Week 7 against the Jets.

Patriots have released rookie 7th round pick.

The Patriots will be able to assemble their practice squad on Sunday. Here are the players eligible for the practice squad. You can ignore the guys who are locks to make the roster. The roster currently stands at 59 players if you don't count LeGarrette Blount, who is suspended for Week 1. Brandon LaFell is another potential move since is still on the Physically Unable to Perform list and hasn't practiced yet.
