Patriots WR Brandon LaFell Appears Headed to the PUP List

The New England Patriots are in desperate need of another wide receiver as Brandon LaFell heads to the PUP list.

The Patriots need at wide receiver just became greater as Brandon LaFell not-very-cryptically announced that he will be targeting a return for the Patriots Week 7 game against the New York Jets. The implication is a six-week sideline trip for the receiver who hasn't been able to practice due to a foot injury.

This is semi-alarming because veteran receiver Reggie Wayne thought that the Patriots weren't the best situation for his production, even though there was a clear path to the starting line-up.

Bill Belichick and Nick Caserio will be making phone calls as they try to bolster their receiving corps that is down to just Julian Edelman, Danny Amendola, Aaron Dobson, Chris Harper, and Jalen Saunders. The latter two players aren't even locks to make the roster.

The receivers immediately look to be the same quality as the 2013 Patriots, sans Kenbrell Thompkins (who happens to be a recent free agent cut by the Oakland Raiders).
