ESPN's Adam Schefter dropped the news right before halftime that the Tennessee Titans will be keeping intermin head coach Mike Mularkey on in an official capacity. This means that all head coaching positions are filled and that the New England Patriots will keep offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and defensive coordinator Matt Patricia for one more season.
This is the list of head coaching roles filled thus far:
Titans: Titans interim head coach Mike Mularkey
Dolphins: Former Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase
Browns: Former Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson
Buccaneers: Buccaneers offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter
49ers: Former Eagles head coach Chip Kelly
Giants: Giants offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo
Eagles: Former Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson
The following roles were in question, but ultimately retained by the incumbent head coach:
Colts: Head coach Chuck Pagano
Chargers: Head coach Mike McCoy
Lions: Head coach Jim Caldwell
It's wild that every team was willing to overlook McDaniels, but that's their loss and the Patriots' gain. New England will move forward with fantastic consistency in the coaching ranks.
