The New England Patriots did their job and will move on to face the victor of tomorrow's AFC Divisional Round game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Denver Broncos. Kick off will be at 4:40 PM EST on CBS. Which team would you rather win to face the Patriots?
The Pittsburgh Steelers
Pros: The Steelers are supremely banged up with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger having torn ligaments in his shoulder. Running back DeAngelo Williams is injured, as is wide receiver Antonio Brown. The Steelers offensive line isn't great, and their defense is the weakest remaining in the playoffs. Patriots would host.
Cons: Brown and Williams could return next week, while Roethlisberger will be another week healthier. The Steelers are familiar with the Patriots from back in week 1 and will be looking for revenge. Pittsburgh also has enough depth at wide receiver in Brown, Martavis Bryant, and Markus Wheaton to give the Patriots secondary some trouble.
The Denver Broncos
Pros: Patriots get a chance at redemption from earlier in the season, where the Julian Edelman-less Patriots had the Broncos in their crosshairs. Peyton Manning is probably the weakest quarterback left in the playoffs, although the injured Roethlisberger leaves much to be desired. One more Brady vs Manning game for the books.
Cons: Would have to travel to Denver. Broncos defense is one of the best in the league. Emmanuel Sanders is one of most infuriating receivers to defend, and their zone rushing attack gives the Patriots fits. Have to listen to the media ignore any negative storylines about Peyton, while they instead direct focus on the Patriots.
