New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman was mic'd up for the Divisional Round against the Kansas City Chiefs and it was full of squirrelly goodness. Watch it here.
This was Edelman's first game back after returning from a foot injury and we are able to watch him go through a psychological process of adjusting to the game.
"I might run him over. 22. " Edelman said to fellow wide receiver Danny Amendola. Chiefs #22 is rookie cornerback Marcus Peters, who Herald writer Jeff Howe said Edelman was going to torch.
"Can't catch right now, can't catch," before almost knocking the ball up into the hands of Chiefs defensive back Sean Smith. The video flashes all of Edelman's near drops before he howls "C'MON MAN!!!!" to the air.
The cameras catch Edelman on the sideline with quarterback Tom Brady, as Brady is smiling and saying, "hey you're trying to run with it bubs, catch and get down."
It's clear that Edelman needed some time to adjust and, as always, he's hilarious with the mic. You can even watch Tom Brady throw down his playsheet in bewildered frustration after Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith performed a magic trick to escape pressure.
The video ends with Edelman after he performed a magic trick of his own.
"That was lucky," Edelman said after making the game-sealing first down catch off a deflection. "Hey, I'll give you that man, my bad."
