Injury Update: Patriots QB Tom Brady Suffers High Ankle Sprain, Bruised Ribs

The New England Patriots are fortunate to have a bye week because they're an absolute mess. The offense has seen a key starter suffer in injury in 12 of the final 13 weeks of the season, with quarterback Tom Brady suffering an ankle injury in the season finale.

According to the NFL Network's Albert Breer, Brady suffered from a high right ankle sprain, and ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the quarterback received bruised ribs for good measure. Brady isn't expected to miss any time as he managed to finish the game.

With two weeks before their next game, the Patriots will expect the following starting or key offensive players to heal up:

QB Tom Brady (ankle, ribs)

WR Julian Edelman (foot), Danny Amendola (knee), Brandon LaFell (foot)

TE Rob Gronkowski (knee), Scott Chandler (knee)

OL Sebastian Vollmer (ankle), Josh Kline (shoulder)

The Patriots need these players to return at close to 100% if they wish to make any noise in the playoffs.
