Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger asked Tom Brady for his jersey before the game

Roethlisberger had never asked for a jersey before, but he made an exception for the Patriots QB.

While Pittsburgh Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger wasn’t able to play last week, he still managed to chat with New England Patriots QB Tom Brady before the game. Roethlisberger had a request for Brady that he had never been willing to ask of any other player in the league

“Hey, listen, I’ve never done this before,” Roethlisberger says, “but I’d love to get a jersey at some point.”

“Sure, I’d love to,” Brady replies. “ Let’s do it. I’ll get you after the game.”

“It’d mean a lot. I want one in my office.”

Brady and Roethlisberger have been conference rivals since Ben’s rookie season in 2004. The Steelers snapped the Patriots 21-game winning streak in 2004, but the Patriots exacted revenge in the playoffs with a 41-27 victory en route to a 3rd Super Bowl of the Brady era.

Brady holds the 6-2 head-to-head edge against Roethlisberger, but surprisingly, the Patriots have not faced the Steelers in the playoffs since 2004, despite the fact that Pittsburgh has been the third-most competitive team in the AFC since 2000 (behind the Patriots and whatever team Peyton Manning was on).

“I’m hoping we’ll see you again,” Roethlisberger says at the end of the video. It will have to be in the playoffs if the two sides square off again this season.
