New England Patriots fans are ready for QB Tom Brady to take the field on Sunday. Coaches of other teams are not, according to Bleacher Report’s Mike Freeman.
An AFC defensive assistant coach put it rather succinctly, and he's right.
"Thanks to Roger Goodell," one AFC defensive coach told Freeman, "Tom Brady is going to kill us all."
"This Tom Brady scares the s--t out of me," a different NFC defensive coach said to Freeman.
The rest of the year is going to be fun, if the speculation from these coaches come true. They believe the Patriots are going to go on a tone-setting winning streak to put the rest of the league, and commissioner Roger Goodell, on notice.
A personnel man also wants to point out that not only is Brady going to be a great addition to the team, but that head coach Bill Belichick is putting together his best work, too.
"People don't understand how impressive [going 3-1 without Brady] was," one team personnel man told Freeman. "There's only a few coaches in history who could do it. [Don] Shula, [Bill] Walsh, maybe Bill Parcells. Not many more than that."
So we have a one-in-a-lifetime quarterback and a one-in-a-lifetime head coach coming together and both of them are angry for various reasons (you can thank the Bills for Bill’s temper).
What more could you ask for?
