During Sunday’s game between the New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills, emotions ran high even before the AFC East clash was kicked off. During warm-ups, a scuffle broke out after Bills safety Robert Blanton shoved Patriots quarterback Jacoby Brissett.
For the Patriots, wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell as well as defensive coaches Brian Flores and Brendan Daly were involved. The Bills involved in the shoving-match were, among others, Blanton and fellow defensive backs Nickell Robey-Coleman and Aaron Williams.
Today, the consequences of fight became public and the three Bills named above were fined by the league, via AP’s John Wawrow:
3 #Bills tell AP they've been fined by NFL for altercation with #Patriots. Blanton: $21,000 Nickell: $10,000 AWilliams: "It's up there."
Given that the NFL’s fines most of the time seem rather arbitrary, those fines are rather representative of reality. Blanton started the whole scuffle, Robey-Coleman was in the middle of it and Williams was seen trying to push Daly away multiple times.
If any Patriots were fined for their involvement will be announced tomorrow, according to Wawrow.
