Robert Kraft's commitment to giving back to the community has been exceptionally well-documented over the years. Kraft has reportedly donated over $100 million to a boatload of charitable causes, and he's supported organizations as diverse as children's homes, several New England area universities, and Patriots superfan Sam Berns, who spent his last years on Earth campaigning to find a cure for progeria before Berns passed at 17 years old. Kraft also has a fun habit of playing Santa Clause - dropping random checks in charity and nonprofit organizations' mailboxes just because he can and it's a worthy cause.
And now, thanks to Twitter, we've learned about another Patriots fan that got to experience Robert Kraft's kindness firsthand.
A guy who goes by the handle of PositiviB retired from the Coast Guard after logging 20 years in the armed forces, and Kraft wrote a personal letter to let PositiviB know how much he appreciated his service.
Let's get to it: check this out.

If you can't read it, here's what Kraft said:
"Dear Chief Boatswain Mate (name greyed out),
On behalf of the New England Patriots organization, I would like to congratulate you on twenty years of outstanding service to our great nation. You have helped maintain the security of our country during a critical time in its history with a devotion to duty and a spirit of sacrifice in keeping with the proud traditions of military service.
I have learned that you are a devoted Patriots fan and we take great pride in representing New England, where the birth of our nation took place as the original patriots fought here years ago to secure the very freedom we enjoy today. Your service reflects the spirit that guides the New England Patriots organization and their fans worldwide. You are a true patriot and we salute you for a job well done. We honor your loyalty and respect the sacrifices and commitment you have displayed.
Best wishes for a relaxing and rewarding retirement back home in (hometown), MA. Thank you again for your years of military service and and courageous support to our country!
Sincerely,
Robert Kraft"
(Kraft also then hand-writes as a P.S. "Thank you for your "Patriotism", which is a dad joke if I've ever heard one.)
Patriots long snapper Joe Cardona, who, of course, is active in the Navy, also gave our man a shout-out.
Thank you for your service, Chief! https://t.co/zwBxfHrYE6

The world is a crazy place these days, but one thing we can all agree on is that the men and women that keep us safe and sound while they risk their lives deserve our respect. And for Robert Kraft, random acts of kindness like this and supporting the troops is just another day at the office.
