WATCH: Former WR Troy Brown calls the Jets the Patriots biggest rival in the AFC East

Brown also discusses the value of homefield advantage.

New England Patriots WR Troy Brown has to rank in the top five of the best members of the Patriots 2001-04 stretch, right? It’s hard to choose, but Brown, Tom Brady, Kevin Faulk, and Tedy Bruschi have to be in everyone’s top five, with Willie McGinest, Ty Law, Matt Light, Richard Seymour, Rodney Harrison, and a handful of others fighting for that fifth spot.

Brown joined NBC Sports to discuss the value of homefield advantage and also gives a shout out to the Patriots’ biggest AFC East rival.

“I think the Jets, they really took the lead as being the number one rival,” Brown states.

The Patriots love playing at home and having homefield advantage throughout the 2016 playoffs is the top priority. Since 2001, the Patriots have won 83.4% of their home games, versus 67.6% of games away from Foxboro. Brown attributes the success to fan noise, but also to a degree of comfort with communication.
