Rob Gronkowski in good spirits after back surgery: “Dance floor, tomorrow night, here I come.”

The Patriots All Pro tight end is already working his way back to the field.

New England Patriots All Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski had back surgery on Thursday and he is not expected to be able to return for two months, or the week before the Super Bowl. It’s very unlikely that Gronkowski will play again in 2016.

But Gronkowski is already walking after his back surgery and appears to be in good spirits, according to his Instagram.

Rehab day 1! "Can't nobody hold me down... Oo no I got to keep on movin"

“Dance floor, tomorrow night, here I come,” Gronkowski says on camera. You can hear the emotional strain in his voice, but Gronkowski’s indomitable humor should win the day.

One former team doctor says that Gronkowski likely underwent a “simple discectomy” because the tight end “would not be walking this quickly if fusion surgery.” This is a good sign because it means Gronkowski has a good chance of making a full recovery.

This is the third back surgery of Gronkowski’s career. Best of luck in his recovery.
