Patriots K Stephen Gostkowski named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week vs Rams

From highs to lows and back to the highs, the Patriots kicker is on top of the league this week.

New England Patriots K Stephen Gostkowski has been named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for week 13 against the Los Angeles Rams. Gostkowski connected on two extra points and four field goals, including three from 45+ yards deep.

Gostkowski has gone through ups and downs this year. He was named AFC Special Teams Player of the Week in week 1 against the Cardinals, but he’s also gone through some stretches of terrible kicking. Between weeks 2 and 7, Gostkowski was hitting just 82.1% of his kicks. Since week 8, Gostkowski’s hit 92.6% of his kicks, which is more in line with his 2013-2015 seasons.

Hopefully Gostkowski’s problems are behind him because he’s a vital part of the Patriots success.

Colts QB Andrew Luck and Chiefs SS Eric Berry won AFC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.
