Patriots announce 7 practice players of the week from week 13 against the Rams

The New England Patriots have announced seven practice players of the week from week 13’s commanding 26-10 victory over the Los Angeles Rams. The players are CB Justin Coleman, OG Chase Farris, RB D.J. Foster, ED Geneo Grissom, FB Glenn Gronkowski, CB Cyrus Jones, and LB Barkevious Mingo.

It’s not a surprise to see the Patriots scout team serve as the top players on the opposing squad. Coleman could have been CB Trumaine Johnson; I would bet Foster was RB Benny Cunningham, while Gronkowski was RB Todd Gurley and TE Lance Kendricks; LB Barkevious Mingo might have been LB Alec Ogletree due to his athleticism.

ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported that Grissom was acting as DL Aaron Donald at practice and the offensive line was clearly prepared.

We also have the practice players of the week from the prior game against the Jets. They are CB Justin Coleman, RB D.J. Foster, QB Jimmy Garoppolo, CB Jonathan Jones, OG Ted Karras, DT Woodrow Hamilton, LB Trevor Reilly, and LB Kyle Van Noy.

Garoppolo was likely QB Ryan Fitzpatrick due to his scrambling ability and quick release; Foster could be either RB Matt Forte or RB Bilal Powell; Reilly is a former member of the Jets.
