Four Patriots Were Among the Most Searched Fantasy Players

The fantasy football website Rotoworld tracks which players receive the most attention during each season and four members of the New England Patriots cracked the top 50 list for the NFL. Keep in mind that fantasy football focuses on the offensive side of the ball, so every defender missed the cut.

Here are the four:

8th: WR Brandon LaFell - The Patriots wide receiver spent the first half of the season on the physically unable to perform list, and spent the second half of the season infuriating fantasy owners wondering why he wasn't able to produce with Julian Edelman on the sideline.

25th: RB Dion Lewis - Lewis surprised everyone with a strong first half of the season and I'm sure most of the searches were out of confusion. Who is this guy and can he sustain his pace? Unfortunately an injury cut his season short, but Lewis was one of the great stories of 2015.

38th: WR Julian Edelman - The star wide receiver was great before his foot injury and was then sidelined for the rest of the regular season. There was some hope that he could return towards the final weeks of the year, but it wasn't to be.

44th: QB Tom Brady - I'm sure Brady received plenty of attention early on in the year during the DeflateGate decisions, but there was probably a spike towards the fantasy football playoffs as Brady limped towards the finish line without Edelman, Danny Amendola, and Rob Gronkowski for extended periods of time.

Personally, I'm surprised that Gronkowski didn't make the list, and that Amendola didn't receive much attention after Edelman's injury. I'm also interested in where running back LeGarrette Blount fell over the course of the season because he could've attracted some searches after Lewis' injury.
