Shortly after losing out on the Nick Fairley sweepstakes to the New Orleans Saints, the New England Patriots have turned their focus in a different direction. Enter defensive tackle Terrance Knighton, also known as "Pot Roast."

The Patriots are looking for a 4th defensive tackle for their rotation, to play alongside the team's past two first round picks Dominique Easley and Malcom Brown, and veteran Alan Branch. Knighton is known as a major run stuffer and is just turning 30 years old this summer.
Knighton spent the last season on a one-year, $4 million contract with Washington and hasn't drawn much interest this offseason. He battles migraines and wasn't able to suit up against the Patriots this past year. He will likely be available for a cheaper contract this season.
The Patriots were interested in signing Knighton last offseason, just as they were interested in signing Fairley. He was one of the main reasons the Broncos manhandled the Patriots offensive line in the 2013 playoffs. He would replace Sealver Siliga in the defensive rotation.
Wasington is still interested in retaining Knighton, for the right price.
