Patriots WR Brandon Gibson Might be Done in New England

While this transaction falls more similar to the non-signing of wide receiver Brian Tyms, rather than the release of wide receiver Brandon LaFell, the New England Patriots continue to work on remodeling the wide receiver position.

Brandon Gibson has a history with Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and signed aboard to try and rejuvenate his career. An unfortunate preseason injury landed Gibson on the injured reserve before the season even started, and it seems that the Patriots are not going to try and bring back Gibson for 2016.

Gibson wasn't on the roster, but the move reinforces the idea that the offense needs a complete shake-up at the wide receiver position.

Wide receiver Julian Edelman is a lock, Danny Amendola will need to restructure, Keshawn Martin has an inside lane on one roster spot, and Chris Harper and Aaron Dobson will get a chance to fight for a spot in the offseason. This position is going to get a 2007 face lift.
