Can't say that the Patriots aren't trying. The New England Patriots have been connected with the top four wide receivers available in free agency, even if they haven't been able to land a contract.
Marvin Jones told me it was a 'stressful decision' & that he ultimately chose the Lions over the Patriots and Bengals @nflnetwork

The Patriots were showing interest in Travis Benjamin, per source. He was out of their price range and signing with the Chargers.

We have previously reported the Patriots interest in Mohamed Sanu (Julian Edelman just followed Sanu on Instagram, so watch out) and in Rishard Matthews.
While the Patriots haven't been able to sign any of these players yet, it shows a clear intention on the Patriots to improve the receiving corps with whatever players are available on the market.
Hopefully one of these players will wind up in New England, or else the release of Brandon LaFell could look like a mistake.
