The New England Patriots are sitting on their hands during free agency, but they're remaining active with the draft. Director of Player Personnel Nick Caserio has been a busy man, flying from Auburn to Northwestern to Rutgers in the span of 48 hours.

Rutgers wide receiver Leonte Carroo isn't working out and he's really the only player worth noting at Rutgers, so perhaps the Patriots were meeting him for an interview.
6'1, 240 lbs linebacker Steve Longa runs a 4.78 40 yard dash and was a three-year starter. He's projected to be a late-round pick and could slide in next to fellow Rutgers linebacker Jonathan Freeny as a depth option and special teamer.
In slightly more exciting news, the Patriots have interviewed the reigning Hesiman Trophy winner, Alabama running back Derrick Henry.

While Henry probably won't last until the end of the 2nd round, the Patriots could very well make a move up the draft board if they believe that he is the missing piece from the offense (no matter how doubtful that scenario might sound).
Alabama is flush with top tier talent, but running backs Henry and Kenyan Drake, as well as cornerback Cyrus Jones, are players that will likely go between rounds 2-4 that could interest the Patriots.
