So it's late, but I still wanted to recap the opening round of the draft. We have this neat Facebook page (over 80,000 fans!) that allows us to do live videos so I thought I'd try it out.
Did I mention it's late?
I ran through the opening round of the NFL Draft and how it impacts the Patriots approach to the second day. There are still a lot of players on the board at safety and edge defender- two positions linked to the Patriots in the second round- and then there's roughly a billion defensive tackles still on the board that could contribute on day one for the New England defense.
On the flip side, the offensive side of the draft isn't looking too good. The worst-case four wide receivers went in the opening round, which means that it's highly unlikely that any of the top tier players will be on the board when the Patriots pick at 60 and 61. The top tier offensive tackles are already off the board (and Jason Spriggs will be gone quickly), so the Patriots might as well accept Marcus Cannon as their savior in 2016.
I covered how the rest of the AFC East did in the opening day, and a whole lot more. Leave your comments below and if you have any questions, I can lead tomorrow's video with some answers!
