The New England Patriots have reportedly traded the #61 overall pick to the New Orleans Saints, per the Herald's Jeff Howe.
Per the New England Patriots official statement, the Patriots have picked up the Saints #78 overall pick in the 3rd round, in addition to the Saints #112 overall pick in the 4th round. The Patriots did not have a pick between #96 and #196, so adding a fourth rounder is a much desired addition for head coach Bill Belichick.
As far as the draft value chart is concerned, this is an extremely even trade for both sides. The Saints selected safety Vonn Bell, who is a very talented player, but offers skills that mirror the Patriots safeties Patrick Chung and Jordan Richards.
New England added cornerback Cyrus Jones at #60 and opted to move down, instead of adding an additional player. Top tier prospects like Baylor defensive tackle Andrew Billings and Florida defensive tackle Jonathan Bullard were still on the board.
