The New England Patriots have selected Illinois OG Ted Karras as the 221st pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
There is no picture of Karras in the database, so we've used his running back instead. Yeah, it's that type of pick.
Karras measures in at 6'3 3/4, 307 lbs and was named All Big Ten 3rd Team this past season after serving as the team's starting right guard. He also played center in the season finale. Karras registered 43 starts at right guard over his career.
It seems that the Patriots are still looking to improve their situation on the interior line after quarterback Tom Brady suffered through a season of horrendous play. Incumbents Josh Kline, Shaq Mason, and Tre Jackson should not consider their roster positions safe. The Patriots are investing heavily in the line to try and bolster the group.
The best players are going to make the team, regardless of draft position.
