Patriots bring back RB/FB Joey Iosefa for some reason

The Patriots are bringing back the big running back from 2015.

The New England Patriots cut running back Joey Iosefa last week and signed 16 players on the same day. The separation was short lived.

Iosefa has re-signed with the Patriots, per NESN's Doug Kyed.

Iosefa is a 6-foot, 245-pound running back that also served a couple snaps at fullback. The 2015 7th round pick by the Buccaneers joined the Patriots practice squad before receiving a promotion late in the season after a series of injuries to Dion Lewis and LeGarrette Blount.

Iosefa carried the ball 14 times for 51 yards against the Titans, and just once for zero yards the next week against the Jets. He wasn't particularly notable in his time on the field and it's likely that he will serve as a camp body until Blount's hip is fully cleared and ready to go.

After New England released LB Tony Steward, there were some questions about the Patriots next move. The Patriots roster is now full, with 89 players under contract and rookie third round pick Jacoby Brissett still negotiating his deal.
