Happy 30th birthday to New England Patriots star wide receiver Julian Edelman!
Edelman has come a long, long way from being a 7th round pick in 2009 and holds a firm place in franchise lore from his time as a cornerback, and as a Super Bowl hero. The 5'10, 200 lbs receiver has spent the past three seasons as the team's top target and has become close friends with quarterback Tom Brady, along with tight end Rob Gronkowski and wide receiver Danny Amendola.
Edelman ranks 13th in franchise history with 3,434 receiving yards and 864 to pass Kevin Faulk (3,701), Randy Moss (3,904), and Deion Branch (4,297) and move into 10th place.
Edelman also ranks 15th in receiving touchdowns with 21, and needs eight more to pass Terry Glenn (22), Randy Vataha (23), Branch (24), Larry Garron (26), and Russ Francis (28) and move into 10th place.
Edelman holds the franchise record with 4 punt returns and he is one of three modern era players to average more than 12 yards per punt return, along with Rick Upchurch and Devin Hester.
