In a scientific sense, blasting some good music while you work out functions as a performance booster – it can benefit athletic performance by up to 15%, improve endurance, and let’s be honest, working out and music just goes together like barbecue and mac and cheese.
We all use the word "random" waaaaaaaaay too much in 2016, but that’s the only way to sum up the playlist the Patriots used during OTAs this week. ESPN Boston’s Mike Reiss, who may actually never sleep, took down some notes on the songs the Pats played to test the players and their communication skills. Fortunately for them, most of this playlist has a little something for everyone.
Check out the the selection of jams that Mike Reiss noticed (with the help of Patriots intern Mariah Bayless):
Guns N’ Roses – "Welcome to the Jungle"
James Brown – "Living in America"
Bon Jovi – "Living on a Prayer"
Desiigner – "Panda"
Kenny Chesney – "Noise"
A$AP Ferg – "New Level"
U2 – "Beautiful Day"
Good stuff. You just can’t keep Bill Belichick away from his Bon Jovi.
One suggestion – may we recommend putting some metal in the rotation? If the Patriots can get off a snap count while Slayer is screaming "RAINING BLOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!" at ear-splitting volume, it sure seems like the next trip up to Mile High Stadium in Denver may be just a bit easier.
