New England Patriots running back Dion Lewis returned to practice today and the coaching staff was not preparing for him. Just check out the reaction by running backs coach Ivan Fears (NSFW language):

Fears is watching his backs go through the agility drill before he loses track of the players. All of a sudden, jersey number 33 lines up for the first time all camp and all Fears can say is, “Oh, shit, who’s this?”
Lewis has to be ahead of schedule, which is great news. I wouldn’t be shocked if he were ready and able to go for week 1 of this upcoming season (sound the horns, fantasy football players). While he is not yet at 100%, he is seven months out of his ACL surgery and could be back at full strength for opening week.

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski and presumptive and incumbent starting guard Shaq Mason both returned to the practice field, too.
